Our wonderful choir is made up of dedicated
Christians who willingly give their time to the music ministry of the
church. The choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM for rehearsals.
Their songs are presented every two or three weeks during the morning service.
In addition, special music is presented during the Christmas and Lenten season.
The choir normally does not meet during the summer months. An experienced choir
director and accompanist provide superb leadership. Everyone of high school age
or older is welcome to sing and enjoy the fellowship and special blessings that
happen when one serves the Lord.
We are blessed with a gorgeous set of Schulmerich
handbells as well as a talented director to lead our bell choir. The choir rehearses
weekly on Saturday mornings and presents special music in the morning service
throughout the year. New “ringers” are always welcome, particularly
as substitutes when regular members are absent. An elementary knowledge of music
notation is helpful. This is another example of how one can serve the Lord with
our talents.
We are always looking for dedicated musicians to assist in worship
leadership. Vocalists, guitar, bass guitar, percussion, trap set, synthesizer, and
keyboard players are welcome to audition for a spot on a leadership team for worship.
A knowledge of music and advanced skill level of performance are important
for these teams. Weekly rehearsals are scheduled for both teams.
This vital team assists in worship services by setting
up and monitoring the sound and visual systems in our new building. They
also provide help for meetings, funerals, and other special events requiring
sound or video enhancement. A basic knowledge of computers, video systems, and
sound board operation are a “must” for this team, but training is offered from
time to time for those interested in learning how they can help. This is
another “behind the scenes” ministry that is so vital to our church’s ministry.
Our children’s department organizes a children’s choir
at different times during the year to present special music. The choir regularly
sings at Christmas time and Mother’s Day. Rehearsals are scheduled around the
morning Christian Education classes with an occasional special rehearsal for
the final touches. All children from 3rd to 5th grades
are welcome to sing.
Our church recognizes the powerful impact that live
drama can add to worship. We are seeking to add more dramatic sketches to our
worship services throughout the year. This ministry takes commitment of time
and talent but offers great rewards.
