The head and heart – both are involved in practicing Christian
faith. Christian education classes at MPC are designed to touch the head and heart.
Their primary purpose is to present Biblical truths, and practical
ways to live our lives as disciples / followers of Jesus Christ. In the process the heart is impacted also – by the
presence of God’s Spirit and the feedback of class participants.
We have three great offerings this fall.
Here is our chance to do some intentional faith development. Pray about it and join a class.
MONEY, SEX AND POWER:
Richard Foster says that "The crying need today, is for people of faith to live faithfully." Our discussion group each Sunday morning will use the book written by Richard Foster to explore these ethical themes.
THE BIBLE: SO THAT WE MAY KNOW OUR GOD!:
Ever wonder why we should/ought to read the Old Testament? What is the relationship between the Old and the New Testament? Is God the God of wrath or the God of Love, or perhaps both? Join us for an ongoing Bible study that is meant to spark the flame in your heart to know our God!
THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES:
He sends you flowers… she really just wanted a time to talk. -She gives you a big hug…..he really wanted a home-cooked meal. The problem is not your love; it’s your love language. Dr. Gary Chapman points to five, specific languages of love: * Quality Time, * Words of Affirmation, * Gifts, * Acts of Service, & * Physical Touch. Something that speaks volumes to you may be meaningless to your spouse. This book may be the key to understanding each other’s unique needs. This book is available on Amazon.com starting at $10.00. The teachers plan to add some outside material from time to time. Some from the book by Dr. Naomi Remen, Kitchen Table Wisdom. The class will join together with Pastor Jeff and we’ll all renew our wedding vows, together. There will be an opportunity to attend a program at Canyon View Vineyards, Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage, to be held November 6 & 7.
